About the Project:
The Policy Centre for African Peoples (PCAP) is seeking independent assessors to evaluate the effectiveness of the Hope After Covid project, which aims to improve the wellbeing, mental health, and social engagement of up to 100 residents in Medway and Swale, Kent, over a period of two years. This project is focused on supporting individuals affected by Covid-19 through various activities and services.
Project Objectives:
- Provide group wellbeing sessions incorporating African relaxation techniques, mindfulness, dancing, storytelling, and peer support
- Offer one-to-one coaching, personal development, mindset, and motivational sessions
- Organise social engagement events to combat social isolation and promote community cohesion
Responsibilities:
The independent assessors will be required to-
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the Hope After Covid project against the stated objectives
- Assess the impact of the activities on the participants’ wellbeing, mental health, and social engagement
- Provide a detailed report highlighting the outcomes achieved and areas for improvement
- Conduct interviews and surveys with project participants and staff to gather qualitative and quantitative data
- Attend project activities and events as needed to observe and assess their delivery and effectiveness
Requirements:
- Proven experience in project evaluation and assessment, preferably within the charitable or community sector
- Strong analytical and report writing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain objectivity
- Knowledge of the Medway and Swale areas and the challenges faced by communities impacted by Covid-19 is desirable
